Valley Health, a leader in quality healthcare since 1975, provides primary and preventative care to nearly 60,000 patients in southern WV, southeastern OH, and eastern KY. Valley Health operates over 30 facilities providing full range medical services. Charleston, WV based ZMM Architects & Engineers developed the design. Jarrett Construction Services, Inc. was very proud to be awarded the project and to continue serving another repeate client – this is the third project since 2012.

Jarrett Construction Services, Inc. started site clearing February 2016 to begin construction of the new 15,595 square foot facility. Installation of typical stip footings required additional care due to higher than expected moisture content in the soil as well as the discovery of an abandoned septic system from a previous development.

The exterior façade was comprosed of split faced CMU with accents of synthetic stone and EIFS installed on a slanted frame. The main entrance canopy with stone clad vertical element displays Valley Health’s logo. Cast concrete window sills accent the anodized aluminum windows.

Interior partitions were metal stud framed. The dental clinic space required special recessed trenches for routing of medical gas piping.

Interior finishes include LVT flooring in the corridors & lobbys and VCT in the exam rooms and dental clinic. LED lighting is used throughout, all controlled via occupancy sensors.
Interior doors are clear stained birch and utilize access controls for security. In addition to access controls, the pharmacy is protected by an overhead shutter at the service area.
The building is served by a 22KW generator allowing for limited operation during power outages.

Valley Health moved into their new facility in November of 2016 with a soft opening and held a formal Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on January 17, 2017.
