CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

Job Overview and Duties:  

Our superintendents work in the field to manage and control assigned projects, including supervising field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality of work and subcontractor and supplier coordination. They work with our Project Managers to lead the project team. Superintendents reports directly to the President. 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • 10 years successful field experience in commercial building construction

  • Minimal computer skills are required

PROJECT MANAGER ASSISTANT

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for a variety of confidential administrative, estimating, and marketing duties in support of the management staff. Position requires organizational and procedural skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Procore.  Must have excellent organization and communication skills in order to verbally and electronically communicate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent. BA degree a plus.
  • Experience: One-two years prior secretarial experience, especially in the construction industry, is preferred but not required. 
  • Proficient typing skills and experience in Procore and Microsoft Office Applications are a plus. Familiarity of Foundation accounting software a plus.
  • Ability to use a calculator, fax machine, copier/scanner, postage machine and personal computer.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet deadlines, deal diplomatically and remain calm and composed when confronted with difficult situations or individuals; handle confidential information.
  • Ability to accurately type.
  • Ability to handle vendor issues in a calm and professional manner.  
  • Ability to clearly report issues and identify potential problems to Controller and/or Project Manager.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential data in various forms and keep confidential.
  • Consistent, predictable attendance, including punctuality, is required.
  • Hours of Work: Routinely M – F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, some overtime and weekends when required to complete deadlines or for other duties as assigned. Must be able to work scheduled hours as required by business needs.
  • Valid driver’s license.

PROJECT MANAGER ASSISTANT JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and updates various project information in company’s cloud-based management software, currently Procore. Updates similar information to company server in MS Word, Excel, Project and the like. Typical documents include subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals.
  • Assemble bid books for estimators.
  • Requests and monitors subcontractor required documents to ensure they remain current, such as: General Liability insurance certificates, worker’s compensation certificates, payment applications, WV contractor’s licenses.
  • Creates/reproduces superintendent job books with job specific information, such as: MSD sheets, incident reports, expense sheets and the like.
  • Assist with various accounting reports that aid project managers and management staff. Includes coordinating credit applications from various vendors.

OFFICE MANAGEMENT JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers incoming telephone calls.
  • Collects and drops off US Mail packages.
  • Check all staff outboxes throughout the day and take care of any items placed there. To be done at least four times per day.
  • Issues overnight packages.
  • Maintains own work area clean and neat.
  • Coordinates with Office Manager on office supplies that may be needed prior to running out.
  • Provides V-cards for various personnel in the office when requested.
  • Update phone/extension list.
  • Assist team members with safety items such as weekly safety log and safety sheets.
  • Makes deliveries and pick-ups as requested.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

MARKETING JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist marketing consultant in updating company website, Facebook, and twitter.
  • Coordinate construction progress photography of JCSI’s projects.
  • Assist/develop proposal documents and marketing packages.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
