A new 39,000 square foot grade and middle school attached to the existing St. Joseph’s preschool will provide sorely needed expansion for a growing Catholic school in downtown Huntington, WV. The new building is constructed of steel joists and reinforced masonry construction that will house a new gymnasium, three floors of classrooms and a basement level that shall house kindergarten thru 8th grade. Built on a tough site with virtually no lay down area, the building sits from a rear alley to 6th Avenue and is being started at the same time that the school year begins. All utilities must be relocated to allow for excavation for the basement level, while keeping the existing school in service. The St. Joseph Catholic School has been in existence since 1872, and is poised for the future with its new state of the art building; built by its state of the art contractor, Jarrett Construction Services, Inc.
